CR Governance
We reorganized our governance structure in 2007 to raise the profile of corporate responsibility (CR) and further embed it within the business. The Corporate Responsibility Committee was elevated to Board level and is chaired by the Syngenta Chairman, Martin Taylor. The committee meets twice a year to review our CR performance.
We created a new CR Panel at senior executive level to review and advise on overall CR priorities, policies and issues, external CR reporting, and the effectiveness of implementation of internal policies. Five focus areas have been identified to manage key CR issues within our entire business.
Implementing our policy and commitments
Our CR Policy and Commitments set out the principles that guide Syngenta in all its business activities.
Responsibility for implementing the policy lies with the Syngenta Executive Committee, supported by our CR Committee.
The CR Committee has established a company-wide data collection system, monitoring and reporting on performance against agreed metrics, and proposing standards, strategy, objectives, training and partnerships.
The Executive Committee reviews performance regularly and reports to the Board annually.
